Former Black Stars goalkeeper William Amamoo has donated goalkeeping equipment to Ghana’s U17 women’s national team, the Black Maidens, ahead of their FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup qualifying fixture against Liberia.
The donation, made through Konnect Goalkeepers — a performance-focused goalkeeper glove brand — took place at the Erata Hotel on Thursday, May 21, 2026. Representatives of William Amamoo presented the items on his behalf.
The package included five pairs of goalkeeper gloves for the Black Maidens as part of efforts to support the team ahead of the crucial second-round qualifier.
The Black Maidens will host Liberia in the first leg on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at the Accra Sports Stadium at 3:30pm before travelling for the reverse fixture scheduled for Saturday, May 30, 2026, at the Paynesville-Samuel Kayon Doe Sports Complex in Liberia at 4:00pm.
The gesture is expected to boost the confidence and preparation of the goalkeepers as Ghana seeks qualification to the next stage of the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.
