We’re officially less than two weeks away from Summer 2026 here at the Texas Baseball Ranch®. The Summer Program is a very special time for many young athletes, myself included, when I was still playing baseball. What makes the Summer Program unique is that it’s not just about training for baseball; it’s also about learning lessons that extend far beyond the game itself. The longer you are here, the more grit and grind it requires. But with mindsets each morning and afternoon, it’s really hard to leave the Summer Program without learning a ton about baseball, pitching, and life itself.
The Summer Program was the first thing I attended as an athlete, so I understand how these athletes feel as they step onto The Ranch for the first time. The atmosphere is second to none when it comes to a training environment. Having been an athlete for a few summers and now entering my sixth summer as an instructor, I’m able to see both perspectives when training each individual. The relationships you build here are something you may not even think about before arriving, but the memories and lessons stick with you forever.
Here in the Summer Program, you really learn about the grind and the greatness within yourself, while also building a stronger work ethic than the one you came in with. The days can feel long, and when they begin to stack together consecutively, the process can feel grueling. But you’re not only getting better at the game of baseball; you’re also building something that will last you far beyond the game itself.
Each summer I’ve been here has had a different feel. All in good ways, just all different “vibes.” That often depends on the people who come in, the interns we may have, or even the headspace I’m in throughout the summer. No matter what, a Summer Program at the Texas Baseball Ranch® is always a busy time. But more importantly, it is also a great opportunity to help athletes learn, grow, and develop a true work ethic. We see all types of athletes come through the Summer Program, but no athlete is treated as less important than another. Here, you can dream as big as your work ethic will allow, and that work ethic will definitely be stronger by the time you drive away from the Texas Baseball Ranch® at the end of the summer.
We’re looking forward to another Summer Program here at the Texas Baseball Ranch®, and we hope that you’ll be able to join us at some point!
