Ludwig Kaiser has been surrounded by controversy over the past few days due to his reported arrest, but a recent appearance in Mexico showed a much more emotional side of the WWE star.
A new video online showed Kaiser getting visibly emotional after receiving huge support from fans during a serenata tribute event at the Kings League Dome in Mexico City. The appearance came only days after reports revealed Kaiser had been arrested in Orange County, Florida, on a misdemeanor battery charge.
Fans Show Strong Support For El Grande Americano During Serenata Event
The moment happened during AAA’s “Serenata Para: El Grande Americano” celebration. The event had originally been canceled after news broke about Kaiser’s recent arrest in Florida. However, after legal updates allowed him to continue traveling for work, the show was rescheduled and ended up drawing a crowd of fans supporting the WWE and AAA performer.
Fans loudly chanted for El Grande Americano in tribute to him. Kaiser looked genuinely touched by the reaction, especially after the difficult week he had publicly faced.
The appearance also showed just how popular Kaiser’s El Grande Americano character has become in Mexico. The gimmick, which is closely connected to AAA and lucha libre storytelling, has gained a lot of attention ahead of his upcoming Mask vs. Mask match against Chad Gable at AAA Noche de Los Grandes on May 31 in Monterrey.
Despite the legal situation, Kaiser has continued handling his wrestling commitments. Court documents later showed that he pleaded not guilty and requested permission to continue traveling internationally for work appearances.
His lawyer later submitted additional paperwork confirming that prosecutors did not object to Kaiser traveling for WWE and AAA events. That decision cleared the way for him to appear at the Mexico City tribute event and continue his AAA storyline.
