Jonas Vingegaard took the Maglia Rosa from Afonso Eulalio’s shoulders on Stage 14, taking his third stage victory of the race after Team Visma controlled the peloton across the Aosta Valley mountain stage. On the final climb to Pila, the Dane attacked with under five kilometres to go, and rode clear to win the stage and the Giro lead for the first time. After more than a week in pink, Eulalio cracked on the climb bringing one of the race’s best stories to an end.
