Navarro has had to face significant hurdles over the last 12 months, including an illness that forced her to withdraw from several tournaments. She also saw her ranking slip to world No. 39 after missing the majority of the clay-court swing.

But the Charleston native roared back to contention at the Strasbourg Open, defeating Iva Jovic, Zhang Shuai, and Ann Li en route to the final. In the title clash, she went up against Mboko but upset the top seed by claiming a 6-0, 5-7, 6-2 win.

As Navarro celebrated her third title on the WTA Tour, she received congratulatory messages from several fellow tennis players.

Coco Gauff was delighted to see her compatriot triumph.

“Congratulations Emma,” she wrote under Navarro’s post celebrating her win in Strasbourg.

Caroline Garcia also congratulated Navarro by commenting under her post with the raised hands emoji.

Two-time Grand Slam champion Tracy Austin hailed Navarro for her performance in Strasbourg.

“Fantastic week for Emma Navarro beating Jovic and Mboko for another title! Driving the backhand, forehand so heavy with spin, great dropshots, and slides so well on the clay,” she wrote on X.

American tennis player Ashlyn Krueger also shared her delight at Navarro’s win.

“Yay Emma,” she wrote.

Jaz, the daughter of Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf, was also pleased for Navarro.

“Wow,” she wrote on her Instagram story while reacting to Navarro’s triumph in Strasbourg.

Navarro also received congratulatory messages from McCartney Kessler, Peyton Stearns, Prakash Amritaj, and Daria Saville after winning her first title on clay on the WTA Tour.
