WWE may have already made its decision on one of the biggest matches at Clash in Italy.
Rhea Ripley officially set up her WrestleMania rematch against Jade Cargill during SmackDown after opening the show and agreeing to defend the WWE Women’s Championship against her at the May 31 premium live event in Turin.
Now a new report from Rope Break claims Ripley was internally scheduled to leave Italy with the title still around her waist.
“Rope Break has learned that, as of this past week, Rhea Ripley was slated to retain the WWE Women’s Championship against Jade Cargill next Sunday at Clash in Italy.”
Cargill has spent weeks making it clear she wants another shot at Ripley and the championship, while Ripley has repeatedly welcomed the challenge instead of backing away from it.
If the current plans hold, Ripley would once again survive one of WWE’s most dominant stars and continue her latest run as WWE Women’s Champion. Of course, WWE creative plans can always change before the event actually happens, especially with more than a week still remaining before Clash in Italy.
WWE Clash in Italy takes place Sunday, May 31, 2026, from the Inalpi Arena in Turin, Italy. The possibility of the match result already leaking is definitely going to get fans talking, especially with Jade Cargill still chasing one of the biggest wins of her WWE career.
Do you think WWE should keep the title on Rhea Ripley, or is it finally time for Jade Cargill to take over the women’s division? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
