MVP is tired of wrestling fans turning AEW vs. WWE into a war, and he made it clear he thinks the whole mindset is ridiculous.
While speaking with RVD, MVP called out the tribal behavior he sees online from fans who act like supporting one wrestling company means attacking the other. MVP said he doesn’t understand why people get so angry over wrestling promotions when the whole point is entertainment.
“I don’t understand the vitriolic tribal behavior. I love the ‘AEW sucks, WWE sucks.’ Oh yeah? Well, WWE and AEW suck. Dude, I don’t really care for McDonald’s. I prefer Five Guys, or I like a flame-broiled Whopper over a fried Big Mac, but I’m not mad at McDonald’s. You just don’t eat it.”
MVP then compared wrestling preferences to food, saying someone can prefer one thing without needing the other option to disappear. He also took aim at the kind of online comments that turn simple wrestling competition into personal anger.
“And then sometimes, hey—you know what? It’s been a while. Let me have a Quarter Pounder. I just don’t understand the tribal hatred. You read some of this s** online and people are like, ‘I hate you, wrestling competition sucks.’ Dude, it’s wrestling. It’s entertainment. Have fun. Relax, man.”
MVP once again returned to the restaurant comparison, saying if he prefers something else, he simply goes somewhere else instead of attacking the place he doesn’t like.
“Hey man, I don’t know. And I prefer other burgers over McDonald’s, but I don’t say, ‘Oh, McDonald’s sucks, man.’ I just go across the street.”
MVP’s point is pretty simple: more wrestling companies mean more jobs, more options, and more chances for fans to enjoy different styles. He may have his own preferences, but he clearly doesn’t see any value in turning those preferences into hate.
Do you agree with MVP’s take on AEW vs. WWE tribalism, or do you think rivalry between fanbases is just part of wrestling? Share your thoughts and feedback in the comments.
