Nicholas Pooran smashed a splendid century in the 30th and final league stage game of the Caribbean Premier League 2024 to help his side finish the league stage on a positive note. Let’s look at TKR vs GAW Highlights.

Batting first, Trinabgo lost their first wicket early and Pooran had to come to the crease in the second over of the innings itself, but it was all gone right for the left-handed batter and the Knight Riders as his hard-hitting approach and a century knock set the platform for his side to post a massive total.

Pooran played a knock of 101 off 59 with the help of nine fours and eight maximums. Kieron Pollard’s 13-ball 19* and Keacy Carty’s 13-ball 27 also helped the side put a whopping 211 on board.

Nathan Edwards, Terrance Hinds and Waqar Salemkheil did not allow team Guyana to open their arms and bagged 3 wickets for Trinbago Knight Riders. Akeil Hosein took a single wicket, as Guyana Amazon Warriors were bundled out for 137 and lost the game by 74 runs.

The Nicholas Show in CPL

Nicholas Pooran recently broke the record of most runs in a calendar year in T20 cricket after surpassing Pakistani cricket Mohammad Rizwan’s 2036 runs record set in 2021.

Not just that, it was Pooran’s second T20 ton, and he ended the CPL 2024 league stage as the second highest run-getter with 413 runs in 10 innings. Not to mention Pooran has struck the greatest number of sixes in the tournament this season (30).

CPL 2024 Playoffs

Guyana Amazon Warriors, Saint Lucia Kings and Trinbago Knight Riders all won seven out of their 10 league stage matches, but the Warriors and the Kings will advance as the top 2 teams due to better run-rate.

Trinbago Knight Riders will now face Barbados Royals in the eliminator on Wednesday, October 2 (4:30 AM IST), after finishing the league stage in third and fourth spots, respectively.

Despite losing the last league game, the Guyana Amazon Warriors will benefit from their super net run-rate and will face Saint Lucia Kings in Qualifier 1 on October 3 (4:30 AM IST).
