Five Uncapped Indian Pacers Who Could Shape India’s Fast-Bowling Future – Sports News Portal

The Indian Premier League has always been a platform where young cricketers make name for themselves, and 2026 season was no different. While several established stars grabbed the headlines but a there’s a group of uncapped Indian pacers who made impression with their pace and control under pressure.

India constantly search for strong bench strength ahead of major tournaments, and these young fast bowlers have shown glimpses of the potential for the future.

Prince Yadav

Lucknow Super Giants’ (LSG) right-arm pacer Prince Yadav had a breakthrough season in IPL 2026. After making his mark in domestic cricket and the Delhi Premier League, the 24-year-old carried the momentum into the IPL.

He was acquired by LSG for Rs 30 lakh in the 2025 mega auction. In his debut season he featured in six games and picked up three wickets. It was his 2026 campaign where he really stood out as he claimed 16 wickets in 14 matches for LSG while maintaining an economy rate of 8.82. His performances earned him a call-up in India’s ODI squad against Afghanistan.

Praful Hinge

Praful Hinge became one of the biggest talking points of the season after his dream IPL debut for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). The Vidarbha pacer joined SRH for Rs 30 lakh at the IPL 2026 auction. He became the first bowler in IPL history to take three wickets in the very first over of an innings.

The right-arm medium pacer had already impressed in domestic cricket with Vidarbha, but IPL 2026 gave him a much bigger stage to showcase his talent. Hinge finished the league stage with 11 wickets from six matches with an economy rate of 11.40. Although his economy rate was on the higher side, but his aggressive bowling style and the ability to strike early made him a valuable asset for SRH.

Kartik Tyagi

Kartik Tyagi’s IPL journey has been a rollercoaster, but 2026 finally turned into his comeback season. After facing multiple injuries he went unsold at the 2025 mega auction but Kolkata Knight Riders showed their faith in him by signing him for Rs 30 lakh at the 2026 auction where he was seen a like-for-like replacement for Harshit Rana. However,  Tyagi grabbed the opportunity and made a strong impact for KKR this season.

The right-arm pacer ended his 2026 campaign as KKR’s highest wicket-taker with 18 wickets in 13 innings at an economy of 8.76. Known for his raw pace, Tyagi regularly bowled above 145 kph and troubled batters with his yorkers and bounce.

The 25-year-old already represented India at the Under-19 World Cup and gained IPL experience at a young age but Tyagi now looks more mature and confident for international platform.

Sakib Hussain

As a debutant, Sakib Hussain has made an immediate impact for SRH this season. The 21-year-old seamer from Bihar first gained attention during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy as a teenager where he picked up 4/20 in two overs in his second game.

Sakib also registered a six-wicket haul in the Ranji Trophy against Arunachal Pradesh. He was first picked by KKR in 2024 but he did not get his chance there. He was acquired by SRH for Rs 30 lakh at the IPL 2026 auction where he got his opportunity to showcase his ability. He made his dream debut alongside Hinge in the same match. He finished the league stage with 15 wickets from 10 matches at an economy rate of 9.07, including a four-for.

Saurabh Dubey

Left-arm pacers are always valuable in cricket and Saurabh Dubey showed why he could be a useful option for the future. Picked by KKR as a replacement of Akash Deep, he was introduced a little late in the tournament but the Vidarbha bowler impressed with his discipline and under-pressure spells. He featured in four matches for KKR and picked up five wickets at an economy rate of 8.25.

Dubey had earlier represented India in the Emerging Teams Asia Cup and was also a representative of SRH in 2022. However, IPL 2026 gave him another chance to prove his mettle.
