The May 26 episode of NXT brought the usual action from WWE’s developmental brand. There is always a lot going on in NXT, and this week we saw a new #1 contender crowned.
WWE Speed Champion Lexis King will defend his title next week. A tournament was set up this week to determine who would face him. The first match went to a double draw, so that meant the second match would be for the #1 contender spot.
Nathan Frazer and Romeo Moreno battled in the second WWE Speed tournament match of the night. It turned out that this was the finals. With just a few seconds left on the clock, Morena got the pinfall.
Now, Romeo Moreno will take on Lexis King for the WWE Speed Title. That match could be very exciting, and it’s anyone’s guess who will come out as champion for that match.
