Adam Copeland and Christian Cage got destroyed on the May 27 AEW Dynamite just moments after trying to celebrate their big tag title win.
The AEW World Tag Team Champions came to the ring following their brutal Double or Nothing victory over FTR and started joking around about bringing back their classic five-second pose from 25 years ago. Copeland even handed disposable cameras out to fans before things completely fell apart.
Out of nowhere, David Finlay and Clark Connors rushed the ring and started beating the hell out of both men. The attack got nasty fast. At one point, Finlay and Connors trapped Christian’s hand inside the steel steps and smashed it before continuing to beat down both champions in the ring. By the time it was over, Copeland and Christian were completely laid out as Finlay and Connors stood tall.
AEW wasted zero time setting up new enemies for the tag champs after their war with FTR, and Finlay and Connors definitely made an impact with the way they destroyed both guys.
