Parma 1949 qualified for the Baseball Champions League (BCL) Europe Final Four, while Draci Brno mounted a comeback against the hosts Legionaere, to eliminating them and setting up a playoff against the Honkbal Hoofdklasse’s Twins Oosterhout.
Parma 6 – Oosterhout 2
Former MLB slugger Robel García gave Parma a lead it would not surrender with a solo shot in the first inning. Former Minor League Matteo Bocchi gave his team six solid innings, punching out eight, while World Baseball Classic alum Claudio Scotti took care of the final three, whiffing four. Neither issued a free pass in the game. Robb Paller went yard again for the Twins, one of 10 hits for the Dutch club. [Game Wrap]
Brno 11 – Regensburg 7
The Legionaere started strong, posting four runs in the top of the first, but the Czech Dragons immediately answered with three of their own, setting the tone for a wild game in which at least one of the teams scored in eight of the nine innings. Brno tied the game in the bottom of the second, taking the lead in the bottom of the fourth, and adding two more in the sixth on a José Colina home run. However, a three-run rally in the seventh, highlighted by a two-run shot from Domenic Rauwolf, drew the game to 9-7. Luis Moncada slammed the door for Brno, firing two scoreless innings with four Ks.
