Former WWE Wrestler Curtis Axel Arrested At McDonald’s Drive-Thru & Charged With DWI

Former WWE wrestler Curtis Axel (real name: Joseph Hennig) was arrested in Anoka County on May 17 and slapped with multiple charges after an incident at a McDonald’s in Minnesota.

Axel, who is the son of the late “Mr. Perfect” Curt Hennig, was officially charged with DWI and failing to stop for an accident that played out in a McDonald’s drive-thru. He was also charged with obstructing the legal process, having an open bottle of alcohol in his vehicle and disorderly conduction. Hennig posted bail and was released on May 19.

According to a police report, officers arrived at the McDonald’s around 9 PM after an accident where Hennig’s vehicle backed into another car in the drive-thru. When police got on the scene, Axel was seen driving slowly through the parking lot while smelling of alcohol, having blood-shot and watery eyes and with slurred speech. An open bottle of alcohol was also found inside his car.

Hennig was then uncooperative, swearing at the officers, uttering slurs and had to be physically removed from his vehicle. He also was said to be swearing at both McDonald’s staff as well as the driver of the vehicle he backed into.

The Watch MN wrote:

“When instructed to step out of the vehicle, Hennig reportedly refused. Officers subsequently opened the door, reached inside to turn off the engine, and placed the keys on the passenger seat. After continued defiance, officers physically removed Hennig from the truck, escorted him to the ground, and handcuffed him. While seated in the squad car, an officer read him the Minnesota Breath Test Advisory. Hennig allegedly refused chemical testing and responded with profanities, including, ‘I don’t give a s***,’ and ‘f*** you, you f*****.’”

“During the investigation, a McDonald’s employee reported that Hennig had been mumbling in the drive-thru before pulling forward, swearing at staff, and backing into another vehicle,” The Watch MN’s report says. “He then allegedly opened his door and yelled at the female driver, calling her a ‘b****’ and a ‘p****.’ An inventory search of his vehicle prior to towing yielded a 750 mL open bottle of Phillips vodka on the front passenger-side floorboard.”
