Jannik Sinner got a ten minute break today vs Juan Martin Cerundolo to treat his alleged cramps, which is not an official injury.
He got the same special treatment at Australian Open this year vs. Eliot Spizzirri.
The tennis media are finally challenging the flagrant inequality…
Jim Courier: “This was clearly cramp, it was not an injury, going off court to get his vitals checked? This is absolute baloney!”
Tim Henman: “It’s not right to get benefit of recovering in a room with air conditioning. The umpire stretched the rules in favor of the world no 1.”
Somdev Devarmann: “He should not have been allowed to have treatment for cramp, I can’t believe what I saw, French Open need to investigate this and the umpire needs to be questioned.”
Even the bland queen of cliches Caroline Wozniacki found it all curiously bizarre… “It was strange his box didn’t seem to do much, didn’t give him pickle juice to drink and Sinner didn’t even leave the court after the fourth set.”
Has the tennis establishment given up on Sinner ever becoming a profitable, marketable, popular franchise level star? Or was this a tank job in disguise?
Sinner played two matches at Roland Garros 2026 and both times Chatrier was half empty. Despite all the media moves and promotional efforts and phony popularity awards, Sinner is not a superstar attraction and that is a very concerning dilemma for the ATP World Tour.
