Rhea Ripley Shares Scary WWE Incident In 2025 – ‘My Body Was Shutting Down, I Was Dying’

Rhea Ripley was left fearing for her life during a WWE tour of her native Australia, the reigning WWE Women’s Champion recently revealed.

On a recent edition of the “What’s Your Story?” podcast, Ripley recalled the tour that took place as part of the WWE Crown Jewel 2025 festivities.

Ripley not only felt the need to please WWE, her family, and fans, but also felt the pressure for the entire show to be a success. She said,

“I felt like the face of Australia in WWE. So I was like, ‘I take full responsibility for everything that’s happening here. I take responsibility for how I perform. I take responsibility for how these fans treat my peers.’ I took responsibility for too much, and I just wanted to make sure everyone was happy.”

This immense pressure ultimately got to Ripley, resulting in a scary ordeal backstage after a number of events in Australia. She said,

“I was just like, at such a really low point… Yeah, it was bad. I had a full panic attack. I hadn’t eaten; I hadn’t drunk water. My body was shutting down. It was probably the skinniest I’ve ever been, and I was just like dying.”

Crown Jewel 2025 saw Ripley and IYO SKY team up to defeat Asuka and Kairi Sane in the penultimate of the pay-per-view event.

On the podcast, Ripley added that she realized she needed to take care of herself, resulting in her cutting at least one person out of her life.
