Could the Buffalo Sabres move a goaltender to two?

Jamison Coyle: “You can see the depth of the stable right here, the horses up in Buffalo between the pipes. What’s kind of the big picture? What’s the plan up there for the Sabres going forward at that specific position?”
NHL Rumors: Los Angeles Kings, Winnipeg Jets, and the St. Louis Blues
Weekes: “Well, I mean, they have a lot of depth, which is a good thing in a sense. They’ve got a lot of depth just based on all those guys that you showed. Every one of them played this year. Although Devin Levi was in the American League the majority of the season, down in Rochester, for the most part, played well.
Let’s start with him, for that reason. He’s the youngest, he’s 24 years old. A lot was thought of him coming out of Northeastern. He was great in college hockey, great in the world junior. Now, I reported last week that he’s drawing a lot of interest, which I know for a fact, he is. And I think there’s some unlimited upside for him.
He was originally drafted by the Florida Panthers. Roberto Luongo, his brother, Leo Luongo, had a big impact on that, and he’s proven to be a really good prospect. He’s played a lot of games at the AHL level. Could a team like Ottawa, among others, which I said, be a really good fit for him? Yes. He’s from the Montreal area. He played as Tier Two junior in the Ottawa area, Carlton Place (CCHL), before going to Northeastern for college hockey. He has a lot of interest, so I would anticipate they would try to move him now.
The question is, do you run it back with UPL (Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen) and Alex Lyon, or do you potentially move UPL. Like you could get the most for him in a very, in a market that’s very dry on potential goalies and their availability.
Preliminary Extension Talks with Hischier, and Columbus Looking to Move in the First Round?
But you’re going to ask me, well, who replaces him? To me, if I look at that, there’s a guy named Sergei Bobrovsky who’s won two Stanley Cups. I’m not saying he’s going there. I’m just saying if you want to take your team to the next level, that could be a potential, and he’s a UFA, and you don’t have to give up any assets to acquire him. So just a thought in terms of who’s available, he could be among those that are available, should he make it to the market.”
