The Hockey Development Summit 2026 is delighted to announce Pete Russell, one of the most experienced and decorated ice hockey coaches in British history, as a guest speaker.
Pete is best known for his work with the Great Britain men’s national team where he has led the programme through some of its most successful periods – including historic promotions at IIHF World Championship tournaments that have helped re-establish GB among elite hockey nations.
At club level, Pete guided Milton Keynes Lightning to cup and playoff titles in 2016/17 before taking his coaching career to Germany where he worked with EHC Freiburg, Ravensburg Towerstars and Augsburger Panther, winning the DEL2 Championship and gaining experience in one of Europe’s strongest hockey systems.
With a career spanning junior, professional and national-team environments, Pete brings a rare breadth of experience in player development, staff management and strategic leadership that will make him an outstanding contributor to this year’s Summit.
