Results from Stage 7 of the BC Bike Race

The 7th and final stage of the BC Bike Race has come to an end, and the big winner appears to be Nino Schurter.

Nino came into the final stage of the race with a lead of around 45 seconds, and he won the final stage, so that should make him the official winner of the Solo Open Men’s category.

Peter Disera, who was Nino’s top rival through most of the event, placed eighth today, more than seven minutes behind Nino. We’ll wait for the official word on how Disera ended up in the overall rankings for this year.

Canadian Geoff Kabush (who was one of the top XC riders in North America for close to 20 years) finished in sixth place in Stage 7.

In the Solo Open Women’s category, Katerina Nash took the win of Stage 7. However, her winning margin of just 1 second wasn’t big enough to unseat the category’s overall leader, Ruth Holcomb, so we expect that Holcomb will be declared the winner.

For our readers who want to see how Thomas Frischknecht did in the final stage of the  50+ Men’s group, Frischknecht took fourth place today in that class, finishing a little over 7 minutes and 42 seconds behind the winner of that class today, Even Plews.
