May 31st: Sunday’s Segunda Double – 4/1 Special, Betting Tips & Predictions

With the 2025/26 Segunda campaign drawing to a close on Sunday evening, battles at both ends of the standings are set to be decided.

As Racing Santander sit on the cusp of officially being crowned as champions, there are just two points separating five teams in a dramatic play-off battle.

Ahead of what should be a frantic evening of Spanish action, we have taken a glance at some of Sunday’s most attractive Segunda betting tips.

17:30 Deportivo La Coruna vs Las Palmas

While Deportivo might have found themselves at the heart of a public relegation scrap last season, La Coruna have embarked on an iconic Segunda fairytale this time around. Already storming their way to a famous La Liga return, Antonio Hidalgo’s side also open their finale on Sunday evening sat two points adrift of leapfrogging Racing Santander and being crowned as Segunda champions this weekend. Last seen putting in another dominant display as they secured a deserved 2-0 win away at Real Valladolid, the Galicia-based outfit have rightfully received a string of plaudits from across Spain. Likewise, getting May underway with a 2-1 victory against Leganes, Deportivo have won all of their previous four consecutive Segunda appearances by an aggregate score of 7-2. Likewise, along with registering 13 points from their last five outings and with a real party atmosphere in their camp, La Coruna have not suffered a single defeat across any competition since the start of March.

Losing their La Liga status last season, Las Palmas have their sights set on securing an immediate top-flight return this time around. Opening their finale on Sunday evening holding a one-point advantage in the play-off chase, the Yellows are desperate to drag themselves over the finishing line. Despite putting in a season-worst performance earlier in the month as they slumped to a remarkable 5-1 drumming against Andorra, that is the only defeat that Luis Garcia’s side have suffered from their last six Segunda appearances. Clinching consecutive 2-1 victories against Cadiz and Real Valladolid on either side of opening May, Las Palmas are looking to collect a heavyweight scalp here. However, Garcia’s side have largely struggled to find any real defensive grit over recent times. In fact, Sunday’s guests have recorded just a sole clean sheet from their previous eight Segunda appearances – a run that stems back to April 2nd.

17:30 Racing Santander vs Cadiz

Enjoying what has been nothing short of a sensational Segunda romp this season, Racing Santander have breezed their way to an iconic La Liga return with plenty of time to spare. Opening their finale on Sunday evening holding a two-point buffer over silver medalists Deportivo La Coruna, there will certainly be a major party atmosphere at the Stadium El Sardinero this weekend. Last seen snatching a 1-1 stalemate away at play-off contenders Malaga, Jose Elberto Lopez’s men have registered 10 points from their previous four Segunda appearances. Likewise, unbeaten in all of their last seven straight outings (five wins, two draws), the Cantabria-based outfit have also gained a fearsome reputation for their success on home soil. Storming their way to an empathic 4-1 romp victory against Real Valladolid earlier in the month, Santander have won their previous four showdowns at the Stadium El Sardinero by a remarkable aggregate score of 16-5. With that stellar flurry highlighted by a 5-1 romp against Almeria on April 12th, Lopez’s record-breaking squad will be looking to make one final statement here.

Dragging themselves to what was an essential 3-0 victory at home against Leganes last time out, Cadiz have all but mathematically extended on their Segunda status. However, despite opening up the 2025/26 campaign with their sights set on mounting a genuine play-off charge, it has been a nightmare campaign for Imanol Idiakez’s side and they have come under plenty of scrutiny. Signing off April with a 2-1 loss at home against Las Palmas, Sunday’s guests have mustered just a single win from any of their previous 11 consecutive attempts – a run that stems all the way back to March 13th. Spending the whole of this season scrapping it out at the foot of the Segunda standings, they have also continued to show some glaring issues away from the JP Financial Estadio. Including a pair of 3-0 drumming against Sporting Gijon and Real Valladolid last month, Cadiz have secured just a sole win on their travels so far this calendar year.
