Brzezinski, a Vikings organization staple for nearly 30 years, stepped into the interim GM role on January 30 after owners Mark and Zygi Wilf fired Kwesi Adofo-Mensah following a disappointing 9-8 season that ended without a playoff berth. The Wilfs tasked Brzezinski with leading the front office through the 2026 NFL Draft before a formal GM search would begin. He held down the fort through free agency and the draft before the organization began a full search process.
Brzezinski was one of five finalists to receive a second interview for the permanent GM position, joining Broncos assistant GM Reed Burckhardt, Bills assistant GM Terrance Gray, Rams assistant GM John McKay, and was ultimately hired by Nolan Teasley. Despite not landing the top job, the expectation across the league is that Brzezinski will continue in his longtime capacity as the team’s salary cap authority and lead contract negotiator, a role he has occupied officially since 2014.
Teasley arrives in Minnesota fresh off a Super Bowl victory with the Seattle Seahawks, where he spent 13 seasons and rose to assistant GM in 2023. He replaces not just Adofo-Mensah but also an interim chapter in which Brzezinski helped stabilize the organization during one of the most critical roster-building windows of the offseason.
