Rams Sign Max Klare To 4-Year Rookie Contract

Rams Sign Max Klare To 4-Year Rookie Contract

The Los Angeles Rams have gotten an extended look at their 2026 NFL Draft class with voluntary organized team activities (OTAs) beginning last week.

The team previously signed offensive lineman Keagen Trost and wide receiver CJ Daniels to the standard four-year rookie contracts, and now have locked up another key player.

According to Howard Balzer of CardsWire, the Rams have worked out a deal with tight end Max Klare:

Klare’s four-year deal with the Rams is worth $8.075 million and reportedly includes a $2.33 million signing bonus. He will count for just $1.47 million against the Rams’ salary cap next season.

With Klare signing his deal with the Rams, there are now only 47 NFL rookies who have not yet signed their contracts. That includes two of L.A.’s picks in quarterback Ty Simpson (first round) and defensive tackle Tim Keenan III (seventh round).

Klare was selected in the second round (61st overall pick) out of Ohio State and adds to the Rams’ loaded tight end room that includes Colby Parkinson, Tyler Higbee, Terrance Ferguson and Davis Allen.

Klare caught 43 passes for 448 yards and two touchdowns in 14 games with the Buckeyes last season. He spent the first three years of his college carer with Purdue, where he recorded 73 receptions for 881 yards and four touchdowns.

Max Klare excited to run 13 personnel on Rams offense

Despite having a pretty full tight end room, Klare is excited to contribute to the Rams offense.

“It’s a great room,” Klare said. “It’s gonna be fun to be a part of it. I’m just super pumped to meet the guys, get to know them, get to work with them and attack it every day with them.”

Many teams run 12 personnel, which involves two tight ends, but the Rams were one of the few who regular ran 13 personnel with three tight ends on the field. That is especially exciting for Klare, who believes the team will be able maximize his skillset.

“There’s nothing better than 13 personnel,” he said. “I am pumped up to be a part of that and I got to earn everything and put my best foot forward every day.”

Klare is certainly someone who can potentially provide another reliable receiving option for this Rams offense. He is a polished route runner with excellent hands and excels at turning upfield and making big plays after the catch.
