BYDGOSZCZ (POL, May 29): DL winner Jamal Britt continued to be number one also at 8th Irena Szewinska Memorial (WACT Gold) with 13.10 (+0.7) in the 110 m hurdles ahead of Cuban Kendry Menendez 13.14 (13.07 PB in heats). Home star and Olympic medalist Natalia Bukowiecka opened with a 50.12 win over 400 m ahead of Yemi Mary John, 50.36. Jonas Phijffers won the 400 m in 45.04, Briton Ben Pattison the 800 m in 1:45.58, and a Croatian surprise in the 1500 m by 800 m specialist Marino Bloudek in 3:38.52 PB. Alastair Chalmers clocked 48.71 over Ismail Nezir 49.01 in the 400 m hurdles. Top five cleared 572 in pole vault and on count back first Menno Vloon ahead of Piotr Lisek who tied for 2nd with Pedro Buaro (NR) followed by Ben Broeders and Chris Nilsen. World indoor medalist Erik Portillo cleared 224 to win the high jump, and South African Douw Smit threw 84.57 PB in the javelin. Women’s 100 m hurdles saw Luca Kozak in 12.66 NR (-0.2), beating Pia Skrzyszowska (12.67) and Alaysha Johnson (12.75; 12.68 in heats). Fatoumata Diallo clocked 55.27 in the 400 m hurdles. Furious finish by Klaudia Kazimierska 3:59.99 in the 1500 m, clearly ahead of Erin Wallace 4:04.01. The 800m race saw collisions and a win for Valentina Rosamilia in 2:00.72. Rio Olympic winner Sara Kolak won the javelin with a throw of 61.42. In the national 100 m, Dominik Kopec 10.08 (+0.5).
