Jonathan Coachman is questioning WWE’s logic after Liv Morgan was placed in the 2026 Queen of the Ring tournament while already holding the Women’s World Championship.
Coachman took to Twitter and reacted to Morgan being part of the bracket. His issue was simple: the Queen of the Ring winner is set to earn a world title shot at SummerSlam, but Morgan is already the Women’s World Champion. Coachman said this is the kind of detail wrestling fans notice right away.
“THIS 👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾 is exactly what wrestling fans are talking about when it comes to attention to detail. Unless I am completing missing something or didn’t hear correctly. The winner of the king and Queen of the Ring tournament wins a world title shot at Summerslam. So Liv Morgan is in a qualifying match and she is the women’s champion. Make it make sense.”
Coachman then suggested the only way WWE could explain the situation would be through a segment where Morgan says she entered the tournament to block anyone else from getting a title shot.
“The ONLY way you can even try to cover your mistake is doing a pretape with Liv and ask her why she is in it and she says ‘I am going to shut down the title shot before it even happens. For the first time the womens champion wins Queen of the ring and I will kick back and chill in my vip suite at Summerslam’. Otherwise we know she isn’t winning which is not how your book. 🤷🏾♂️”
Morgan previously explained during the WWE Clash in Italy post-show why she entered the tournament despite already being champion. She said every woman in the field had already been beaten by her and claimed criticism of her title reign pushed her to chase Queen of the Ring as well. Morgan also made it clear that she wants everything in WWE’s women’s division.
“All these women had an incredible night—but you know what they all have in common? They’ve all been beaten by Liv Morgan. So I was like, okay, let me expand upon this. It had me thinking about all the people who say Morgan isn’t a good champion—Liv Morgan doesn’t defend her title, Liv Morgan isn’t worthy of being champion. So you know what that made me think? That made me think I am entering the Queen of the Ring tournament because I want it all. I want it all.”
The 2026 Queen of the Ring bracket has Morgan facing Becky Lynch and others in the opening round, with the finals scheduled for WWE Night of Champions on June 27 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The winner is expected to earn a SummerSlam title shot, which is exactly why Coachman believes Morgan’s inclusion creates a booking problem.
Liv Morgan may have her own reason for entering Queen of the Ring, but Coachman’s criticism points to a bigger question about how WWE plans to explain the stakes if the champion is in the field. Now, fans will be watching to see whether WWE addresses it directly or simply lets the tournament play out.
