What to expect from sim racing and driving games in June

Last month was dominated by the release of Forza Horizon 6, but racing game aficionados still have plenty of new releases to enjoy this month.

We’ve rounded up the new sim racing and driving games to look out for in June, as well as post-launch updates and DLC.

F1 25: 2026 Season Pack

Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S
Release date: 3rd June

The summer season usually marks the release of the latest annual F1 game. This year, however, Codemasters and EA are breaking the tradition for the first time since 2009.

In place of a standalone game, F1 25 will receive a 2026 Season Pack DLC bringing this year’s teams and drivers, as well as a chance to experience the new Madring circuit in Madrid ahead of its real-world debut in the championship.

This is more than a simple car and track expansion, however. It also incorporates this season’s revamped regulations, with the new power units and energy management systems affecting race strategies.

At £24.99 / $24.99, it’s shaping up to be a relatively affordable stopgap until next year’s “reimagined” sequel hopefully brings more substantial game upgrades.

Forza Horizon 6

Platforms: PC, Xbox Series X|S
Release date: 4th June and beyond

Forza Horizon 6 has been out for a few weeks and has already attracted over six million players. While PlayStation owners are still waiting for the PS5 release, the car list will expand on Xbox and PC this month, with new Festival Playlist rewards and Car Pass additions.

Between 4 and 11 June, earning enough points in the Winter season will unlock the 2019 Subaru STI S209 and 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser Arctic Trucks AT37.

The following week, the 1996 Toyota Starlet Glanza V and 1974 Toyota Corolla SR5 will be Spring’s playlist reward cars.

In the summer playlist, players can win the 1989 Volkswagen Rallye Golf and 1988 Lamborghini Countach LP5000 QV from 18 June. The series will then culminate with the 1998 TVR Cerbera Speed 12 and 1993 Schuppan 962CR prize cars in the Autumn playlist.

For Car Pass owners, the Datsun #269 240Z ‘All Carbon Hill Climb Beast’ will join the roster on 4 June, followed by the 2008 Honda Civic Type R on 11 June.

Formula Legends Legacy Edition

Platforms: PS5, Switch
Release date: 4th June

Formula Legends Legacy EditionFormula Legends Legacy Edition

Formula Legends had plenty of potential when it launched last year. Developer 3DCloud’s passion for motorsport shone through, with curated championships taking you through the history of Formula 1, albeit with unlicensed cars and tracks.

Sadly, poor AI and twitchy car handling made it fall short at launch. Since then, the indie racer has improved leaps and bounds, with a new handling model, reworked AI and a multitude of DLC, including officially licensed Formula E content.

One year on, the upcoming physical Legacy Edition bundles all eight DLC packs. It also includes a poster and four lithographs for physical collectors.

If you missed Formula Legends at Launch, the Legacy Edition promises to be the definitive version.

iRacing Season 3 2026 build

Release date: 9th June
Platforms: PC

It’s a new quarter, and like clockwork, that means a new update and content drop for iRacing subscribers.

This time, there will be the ability to race against AI-controlled opponents in single-player dirt races, a feature that was often requested. The roll-out begins with the Dirt Legends Ford ‘34 Coupe and Dirt Street Stock cars. Oschersleben, Magny-Cours, Oran Park and Chicagoland Speedway are existing tracks all receiving updates of sorts, while Laguna Seca has been (long-overdue) rebuilt from a fresh laser scan.

The headlines, however, are likely the new content. On the 9th June 2026, the latest G87-generation BMW M2 Racing, Euro NASCAR RC01 and two Formula Vee variants will be released. The BMW M Hybrid V8 will be upgraded to ‘Evo’ spec, too.

A new street track will also be made available – Qualcomm Circuit (Naval Base Coronado) arrives one week ahead of its real-world NASCAR debut.

Gran Turismo 7’s Le Mans ‘Hypercar’ update

Release date: 11th June
Platforms: PS4 and PS5

Shocker, after years of feedback that the free Gran Turismo 7 updates don’t include enough real-world contemporary race cars, especially for those who enter Sport Mode events, the tide has recently turned.

The Ferrari 296 GT3 and an upgraded Porsche 911 GT3 are recent additions, alongside a spec-racer classic Chevrolet Camaro and a F3500-B single-seater.

This month, the long-awaited top class of endurance racing will be represented by more than just the Toyota GR010 in GT7. Not one, but four LMDh/LMH vehicles will be added:

  • Porsche 963 LMDh
  • BMW M Hybrid V8 LMDh
  • Ferrari 499P LMH
  • Peugeot 9X8 LMH

It’s an exciting lineup, with a bonus Porsche 911 safety car, with further details of what to expect in terms of game changes and additional events expected in the days before release.

4PGP

Platforms: PC, PS5
Release date: 11th June

Retro formula game 4PGP released on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2Retro formula game 4PGP released on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2

With its vibrant visuals, fast-paced gameplay and F1-style cars, 4PGP (standing for ‘Four-Player Grand Prix’) is a tribute to early 3D polygonal racers on paper, with its most obvious inspiration being Sega’s seminal Virtua Racing.

It even boasts an original soundtrack by Tomoyuki Kawamura, who composed the music for titles such as Sega Rally, Virtua Racing and Tokyo Xtreme Racer.

As the title alludes to, it supports split-screen multiplayer for up to four players, and can run up to 120fps.

After launching as a Nintendo exclusive for Switch and Switch 2, the multiplayer-focused racer is heading to PC and PS5 this month. Unfortunately, the Switch 2 version left a lot to be desired thanks to its graphical issues, rudimentary driving and limited replay value.

“4PGP is not a ‘love letter to ’90s arcade racing’; it is more like an insult to everyone who really loves those games,” we wrote in our review. Let’s hope the new release is an improvement.

#DRIVE Rally

Platforms: PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch
Release date: 18th June

#DRIVE Rally Early Access hands-on#DRIVE Rally Early Access hands-on

From Polish developer Pixel Perfect Dude, #DRIVE Rally is drifting onto PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Switch following its initial Steam release last year.

A spin-off to the mobile-only #DRIVE, it pays homage to 1990s arcade rally games, blending stylised visuals with forgiving driving physics and extensive car customisation. Its standout feature, however, is its eccentric co-drivers, who boast distinctive personalities and mock your poor driving if you frequently make mistakes.

It joins a growing raft of retro-style console rally games, alongside the likes of Old School Rally and Art of Rally. There will also be a physical edition, which includes an art book and stickers.

Project Motor Racing GT Icons DLC

Release date: 23rd June
Platforms: PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S

A big paid-for downloadable content pack, this, with one track and nine cars launching for Project Motor Racing. The venue is Road America Rocky Knoll Raceway, and the vehicles are all from the past and are rarely seen in video games.

Of these, the Chapparal 2F with moveable rear wing and sleek Jaguar E-Type Lightweight stand out. Alongside the content, expect further quality-of-life changes. The Straight4 Studios team has been given the backing by publisher Giants Software to continue tweaking, now under the stewardship of sim racing industry veteran Aristotelis Vasilakos.

Le Mans Ultimate’s next season pass

Release date: TBC

“We’re expecting to update you on our next season pass plans at [the 24 Hours of] Le Mans in June,” said Motorsport Games CEO, Stephen Hood, earlier this year about Le Mans Ultimate.

So, now it’s June. The real-world race the popular sim racing title takes its name from runs between 10th and 14th, so…

What’s it going to be? Social media posts went wild over an in-game shot of the word ‘Daytona’ shown at the same time Hood said those aforementioned words, and he recently told investors about a ‘non-European’ track pack, so at least one USA-based venue this month is our bet.

Assetto Corsa Rally update

Assetto Corsa Rally’s Game Designer, Irvin Zonca, stated in March of this year that there would be a game update in April, followed by a ‘larger’ update in June.

It’s now June, so we’re excited. Assetto Corsa Rally has been a pleasant surprise every step of its early access journey so far, with luscious graphics, accurate environments, epic weather systems and rich sounds.

Content and features for ‘0.5’ are yet to be confirmed or teased. We’d like to selfishly request more stages and game modes, please.

Assetto Corsa EVO v0.7 update

Release date: TBC June
Platforms: PC

Okay, yes, the early access launch period was… rough. But the Kunos Simulazioni team is still pushing, and soon after version 0.6 comes 0.7. A new proximity-based safety rating system has already been added to Assetto Corsa EVO, ahead of this imminent update, and we know that the classic Nissan 240Z will be added alongside two GT2-spec Porsches.

More is expected, and while the release window is yet to be confirmed, due to the cadence of teasers, this appears to be locked in for June 2026.

RaceRoom DTM 2026 pack

Release date: TBC June
Platforms: PC

The Lamborghini Temerario GT3 should make its sim racing debut in RaceRoom Racing Experience this month.

As part of a 2026-season DTM DLC pack, the free-to-enter motorsport platform will not only introduce the Raging Bull’s latest supercar, but the upgraded Porsche 911, Ford Mustang and Aston Martin Vantage GT3 models. It will mark the first Aston Martin available for the title, too.

Unconfirmed

Following its launch in March, iRacing Arcade is heading to consoles.  While a release date is yet to be confirmed, iRacing has announced a summer release window. The console version will also mark the debut of split-screen multiplayer, as showcased at SimExpo Charlotte this month.
