Clash in Italy is in the books, as WWE continues its European tour. The WWE Superstars spent two nights in Turin, with this Monday’s Raw kicking off the Queen of the Ring Tournament. WWE Queen of the Ring’s finals are set to take place in Saudi Arabia at Night of Champions. On Raw, Iyo Sky became one step closer to becoming Queen of the Ring. The Genius of the Sky survived Giulia, Lash Legend, and Roxanne Perez to move forward to the semifinals. There are still three first-round Fatal Four-Way Matches to go in this prestigious tournament to determine who will challenge for the Women’s Title at SummerSlam. Here are the current plans for the Women’s Championship this summer.
Queen of the Ring Tournament Bracket
WWE revealed the Queen of the Ring Tournament bracket late last week. Like last year, first-round matches will be determined under Fatal Four-Way rules.
Current Queen of the Ring brackets are:
Side 1:
- Finished: Iyo Sky defeated Lash Legend, Giulia, and Roxxane Perez
- TBD: Bayley vs. Jacy Jayne vs. Kiana James vs. Raquel Rodriguez
Side 2:
- TBD: Liv Morgan vs. Alexa Bliss vs.Chelsea Green vs.Becky Lynch
- TBD: Sol Ruca vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Jade Cargill vs. Lyra Valkyria
As of now, Iyo Sky has advanced to the semifinals. She will face the winner of the Fatal Four-Way on side 1. Meanwhile, side 2 matches have yet to happen, and those winners will face each other. From there, the two women standing on each side will compete to become Queen of the Ring at Night of Champions.
Who Is Expected to Win the Queen of the Ring?
Plans are always changing in WWE. However, the current plan is for Iyo Sky and Liv Morgan to clash at Night of Champions in the finals of the Queen of the Ring Tournament. WWE has Iyo Sky penciled in to become the next Queen of the Ring.
Liv Morgan made it clear that she is looking to become a double Champion by winning Queen of the Ring and challenging the WWE Women’s Champion at SummerSlam. WWE Creative is pitching that Iyo Sky throws those plans off the rails by winning the finals. Then, The Genius of the Sky is expected to win the WWE Women’s World Championship from Liv Morgan at SummerSlam.
This program is designed to cement Iyo Sky as the new face of the women’s division, as Liv Morgan breaks off to continue her Judgment Day storylines.
Other SummerSlam Plans
The Queen of the Ring Tournament is also designed to put some heat on Jade Cargill and Charlotte Flair’s budding rivalry. These two powerhouses are on a collision course, especially after The Baddies put a dastardly attack on The Queen after Clash in Italy.
WWE is at a crossroads with what to do with Charlotte Flair. The current idea is for Flair and Cargill to clash at SummerSlam. From there, Charlotte was pitching a Rhea Ripley showdown at WrestleMania. That said, there is an internal groundswell for Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley to collide at the Showcase of the Immortals. It’ll be interesting to see how things play out, but the WWE Women’s Division is cooking at the moment.
The other working idea for SummerSlam is to have a proper final match for Brock Lesnar. At Clash in Italy, The Beast and The Ruler became 1-1 in their rivalry. With Brock Lesnar still eyeing retirement, the third match with Oba Femi might go down in Minneapolis.
