A closer look at the FIFA World Cup rosters

The bright lights of the 2026 FIFA World Cup are getting ready to turn on and for all 48 participating nations, the final rosters for the summer competition have officially been submitted.

France, England, and Argentina are three of the headlining national teams to announce their rosters, while many others followed suit prior to June 2’s deadline. Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappe, and Lionel Messi were among the headlining names selected to their respective countries’ provisional rosters.

Joao Pedro, Paulo Dybala, and Wesley Fofana are among the biggest snubs so far from their respective rosters.

A player in the final squad may only be replaced by a player from the provisional squad in the event of a serious injury or illness, no later than 24 hours before their team’s first match at the World Cup.
