Following several playtests, JDM: Japanese Drift Master’s long-awaited multiplayer update is set to launch on Steam next week on 11th June. This has been a long-requested addition, as the drift-focused open-world racer has been single-player-only since its launch last May.
The multiplayer update will initially launch on Steam, with GoG and Epic to follow a few weeks later. After the PC rollout, it will arrive on consoles in Q3 2026.
When it launches, JDM’s multiplayer mode will support up to eight players in private and public lobbies. Players will be able to cruise around the open world and organise car meets, with additional game modes in development.
In response to player feedback, developer Gaming Factory is implementing several quality-of-life improvements to the multiplayer in time for the launch. These include the ability to mark a location on the map screen, text chat, and the ability to enter tuning and paint shops. Hosts can also enable a ghost mode to disable car collisions.
In addition to the multiplayer update, JDM’s second DLC pack will launch on 25 June. Priced at $5.99, the American Classics DLC will include six unlicensed, US-inspired cars. Alongside the paid DLC, new JDM cars will also be released for free.
More updates are planned over the next few months, including a new side story campaign and new multiplayer game modes. Curveball Games is also publishing a physical PS5 edition on 14th August.
