Seth Rollins still sees the World Heavyweight Championship as his title, and he made that very clear during his conversation with Prince St. Pizza.
Rollins talked about being forced to give up the championship after suffering a torn rotator cuff. He pointed out that he never lost the title in a match, which made it even harder for him to watch CM Punk and Roman Reigns battle over it at WrestleMania. Rollins explained that he was still champion when the injury situation forced him out of action.
“WrestleMania this year was a bit tricky for me, man. So, I tore my rotator cuff back in October, but I was holding that title. I lost it. Had to give the title up. Didn’t get beaten a match for it. I had to forfeit it cuz I had to go get surgery in the rotator.”
Rollins said he was out for five months, and while he was gone, CM Punk won the title and carried it into WrestleMania.
“So I was out for 5 months. In the interim CM Punk wins the title. Takes it into WrestleMania and he’s wrestling in the main event, mind you, my other rival, this fella named Roman Reigns, right?”
That made the situation even worse for Rollins, because in his mind, two of his biggest enemies were fighting over a championship he never actually lost.
“So you’ve got two of my worst enemies fighting each other for my title, right, in my main event, right? And I have to watch that.”
Rollins said there was no way for him to feel good about what happened, no matter who walked out with the championship.
“It’s really difficult for me, um, to feel any which way other than disgusted by the result, right? You know, so there’s no nobody can win there.”
Rollins then turned his attention to Roman Reigns, who ended up with the championship. Rollins took issue with Reigns claiming he made the title relevant.
“So, now Roman Reigns is walking around with my title, right? Talking about how he made the title relevant, which is, uh, [expletive], I’ll just say it. It’s complete [expletive].”
Rollins did not stop there. He said Roman knows that claim is not true and said everyone else knows it too.
“He knows it. I know it. Everybody else knows it. He sounds like an idiot when he says it.”
Rollins then said he still has other business to handle, including his issues with Bron Breakker, who he said reinjured his shoulder and helped put him on the shelf.
“I got score to settle with a young cat named Bronn Breaker who I’m dealing with right now. He’s, uh, he’s the guy who actually put me on the shelf.”
Rollins may have been away from the title picture because of injury, but he clearly does not see that chapter as closed. In his eyes, Punk and Roman fought over something that still belonged to him, and that gives him plenty of unfinished business in WWE.
