Donald Trump Shares the Joke He Told Giants QB Jaxson Dart

Trump addressed the media on Thursday, where, highlighting the quarterback’s size, he recounted a conversation he had with the young signal-caller.

“The quarterback Jaxson (Dart) is the quarterback for the Giants. He is a big, strong guy,” Trump said. “I said (to Jaxson), ‘How did you think you’d do in women’s sports?’ He said, ‘Pretty good, sir.’ He didn’t know I was joking.

“He wasn’t worried. Let me put it that way. It would have been the greatest athlete in the history of women’s sports. You got to see the size of this guy. Like a male model, and he’s gonna be a great quarterback.”

The remarks blend Trump’s characteristic rhetorical style with the deeply sensitive and polarized national debate surrounding gender categories in athletics. While the tone of the anecdote was distinctly playful and he praised Dart’s 6-foot-2, 223-pound build, the core message aligns with the administration’s broader policy objectives, such as the promotion of the SAVE America Act and pushing for restrictions on transgender athletes participating in female sports divisions.

Abdul Carter publicly voiced his strong opinion about Dart’s appearance at a Trump rally, and it led many to speculate about some ego clashes on the Giants team. What’s more, Dart’s past social media activity relating to polarizing political opinions also made the rounds on the internet recently.

Recently, while addressing the media, Carter doubled down on his decision to call out Dart for introducing Trump at a recent rally.

“Some things are bigger than football, and this is one of those things,” Carter told reporters. “Jaxson is one of our leaders. He’s the face of our franchise. He not only represents himself and what he does, but he represents all of us, and that goes for anybody who wears a Giants uniform, but if he chooses to align himself with a man like President Trump, it’s my responsibility, based on what I believe and what I stand on, to not only show my teammates that I’m against that, but to show the world.

“And that doesn’t mean that we have to spread hate. It doesn’t mean that me and Jaxson hate each other, or we have beef. I sit next to Jaxson every day, every team meeting, we’re close, we talk. As long as we make sure we got the same goal as a team and our goals in line, which they do, I feel like that’s all that matters. So, I just want to move past this.”

Former NFL MVP Cam Newton recently wondered if the political differences between Dart and Carter could cause issues behind the scenes.

“Hey, are we going to talk about this ongoing kind of awkwardness in the locker room between Jaxson Dart and [Abdul Carter]?” said Newton. “Hey, are we going to talk about does Jaxson Dart have the mental telepathy to lead this team?

“Does he understand being a quarterback not only is it an expectation for you to lead this team on the field, but it’s also off the field? See, are we going to talk about Abdul Carter being a distraction? Because not only did he have said tweets that go viral, but is his production going to catch up to what he was asking?”
