The final practice session earlier today delivered a surprise result, with Kimi Antonelli topping the timesheets ahead of Ferrari duo Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton. Now all eyes turn to qualifying, scheduled to begin at 16:00 local time, where pole position and the starting grid for Sunday’s race will be decided.
It is often said that FP3 in Monaco is far more than a simple practice session. The German team appeared to unlock more performance from its setup, immediately becoming a serious threat in the battle for pole position.
There was also drama towards the end of FP3 when Oliver Bearman crashed heavily into the barriers. The young Briton confirmed over team radio that he was uninjured, but the same could not be said for his Haas. The incident caused substantial damage and left the team’s mechanics facing a race against time to prepare the car for qualifying.
With Ferrari, Mercedes, Red Bull and potentially McLaren all in contention, the fight for pole position promises to be one of the highlights of the Monaco Grand Prix weekend.
