The third and final entry in the Final Fantasy 7 remake trilogy brings the epic story to its conclusion three decades on from the original game’s launch. At this point in the story, we’ll get Cid Highwind and his airship and the (literally) striking vamp gunslinger Vincent Valentine. Oh, and those small issues of world-ending magic and an increasingly godlike Sephiroth.

While there’s no set in stone Final Fantasy 7: Revelation release date, there is a release window of Spring 2027. Better yet, it will be released simultaneously across all its confirmed platforms. This is the first entry in which this has happened, following limited PlayStation exclusivity for Remake and Rebirth.
Final Fantasy 7: Revelation Story
Following the events of Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth, Cloud Strife and his loyal companions face a world that teeters on the brink of annihilation.
Grieving a beloved ally, and with their nemesis Sephiroth nearing godhood, the party takes to the skies aboard the airship Highwind in a race against time to stop Meteor, the ultimate destructive magic, and the total obliteration of the planet.
Final Fantasy 7: Revelation Gameplay
In Final Fantasy 7: Revelation, the entire planet is freely explorable via the Highwind airship. Players can drop in via parachute anywhere, seamlessly transitioning from air to land.
With Meteor descending and enormous Weapons unleashing terror, the planet’s conflicts are many, and the party will need to divide and conquer.
You’ll be able to choose where to go, who to help, and in what order as the planet itself fights for survival. Make one last stand alongside a cast of legendary heroes, making decisions along the journey that can impact aspects of their stories.
You’ll have the ability to customise combat by switching between real-time action and Tactical Mode in the series’ established hybrid battle system, now expanded with new playable characters and powerful new abilities.
The FITS system lets characters equip unique outfits that bestow new movesets, evoking classic Final Fantasy jobs like Black Mage and Warrior.
Final Fantasy 7: Revelation Platforms, Pre-Orders, and Prices
Final Fantasy 7: Revelation will be released on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC simultaneously.
No price yet, but expect similar pricing to Rebirth with multiple editions. We await pre-orders that will undoubtedly tell us a bit more.
