AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championships: Divine Dominion (c) vs. TayJay

  • TayJay earned the right to have a title match tonight, but unlike last week, their luck wouldn’t extend to getting the win. This time, it was Divine Dominion coming out on top to retain their titles. The match ended with Megan Bayne and Lena Kross getting the upper hand on Anna, after Kross had thrown her into a corner. The two beat up Anna before Bayne tagged in and rolled her up for the win, as Kross blocked Tay from getting involved.

Winners – Divine Dominion

Grade – B+

It was a solid overall opening match, but nothing to write home about. It would’ve been nice to see TayJay come away with the belts, but maybe another day they’ll get their chance.

Shane Taylor vs. Alan Angels

  • This one is over with pretty quickly. Taylor absolutely dominates Angels here, and wins with a piledriver. He then gets on the mic to call out the Death Riders, saying he wants to change the view of them as one of the most violent in AEW. Instead, it’ll be STP that has that moniker.

Winner – Shane Taylor

Grade – C

A squash match is a squash match, through and through. The stuff after the match was good, but that was about it.

Death Riders (Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, & PAC) vs. Shane Taylor Promotions (Lee Moriarty & The Infantry)

  • This one ended up being more of an all-out brawl than anything else. In the end, the Death Riders proved they were the best group for now. PAC began arguing with the referee late after Marina Shafir got involved, and that let the Death Riders then go after STP. PAC ended up hitting a clothesline on Bravo for the win.

Winners – Death Riders

Grade – B

It wasn’t as fun as it could have been, but all the competitors in the ring are incredibly fun to watch, so it worked out.

Tommaso Ciampa vs. BEEF

  • Another really short one here. Ciampa wins with a running knee and a Walls of Jericho-esque submission. Ciampa kept the hold on after the match and then demanded that Tony Schiavone said that he is better than Jericho. He then said Jericho can’t hide forever.

Winner – Tommaso Ciampa

Grade – C

More Ciampa/Jericho set up isn’t a bad thing, but at this point it’d be nice to just see them in the ring over anything.

Backstage, Shane Taylor isn’t done with Death Riders. He’s beating up Wheeler Yuta, and then blames Moxley for not watching for his crew as the reason why. He asked if the Death Riders had gone soft, and says he wants Moxley in the ring next week.

Juice Robinson vs. Clark Connors

  • Connors and Robinson go at it from the jump here, and it looked like Robinson would get the upper hand early. However, David Finlay appeared, and although Juice dealt with him, it let Connors get back in it. Later in the match, Connors got out of a finisher attempt from Robinson, then Finlay hit Robinson with his shillelagh, and Connors hit the spear for the win. The two then continued going after Juice, until the Bang Bang Gang showed up to make the save.

Winner – Clark Connors

Grade – B+

Good stuff here! Really fun moments, including Finlay continuing to cause problems. Can’t wait to keep seeing Connors in the ring.

Moxley is backstage replying to Taylor. He tells Shane that he better be careful about asking for a match for the Continental Championship. Moxley says Taylor might just find out that he isn’t as tough as he thinks he is. Mox says next week, he’ll give Taylor exactly what he’s asking for.

AEW World Trios Championships: The Conglomeration (c) vs. LFI

  • This one is every bit as insane as fans had hoped for. Things got out of hand quickly, with Rush, Cassidy, Roderick Strong, and Kyle O’Reilly all battling around outside of the ring at some point. There were big spots throughout, including Sammy Guevara lifting up Cassidy to allow Dralistico to perform a wild move off the turnbuckles. In the end, though, the champions reigned, with Cassidy hitting a massive Orange Punch on Sammy, allowing him to roll up Dralistico shortly after for the win.

Winners – The Conglomeration

Grade – B+

Our first stellar match of the night, and it’s basically the last! Hell of a bout, these guys are just some of the best to do it, and they showed that tonight.

Owen Hart Women’s Tournament Quarterfinals: Persephone vs. Hazuki

  • In the quarterfinals of the tourney, Hazuki shows why she’s got what it takes to win the whole thing. She kept targeting Persephone’s left eye, which was bothering her after the Black Mist she received by Julia Hart. In the end, this helped her win, as she escaped a powerbomb late to hit a Codebreaker for the win after locking in a vicious submission.

Winner – Hazuki

After the match, the two shook hands, and Hazuki left. Mercedes Moné then comes out of nowhere to attack Persephone from behind. Hazuki comes back down for the save, but Moné tricks her and then attacks her as well. As security breaks things up, Hazuki then goes for the absolutely wild suicide dive over the ropes to hit Moné as she’s leaving, leaving the crowd wild.

Grade – B+

Another great match, and an even more wild ending! Was good to see Hazuki advance, and not only that, but show that she’s ready for Moné. Hell of a way to end the show.

AEW Collision Review

Grade – B

Overall, this was a pretty decent show, but was mainly saved by its ending. The final two matches salvaged what would’ve been a rough show, but all in all, it was another solid entry in the weekly Saturday shows. We’ll see ya next weekend.
