Lendeborg was an unranked high school recruit who played with Arizona Western College from 2020-2023. Following his time in JUCO he transferred to UAB. With the Blazers, he averaged 15.8 points, 11.0 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game. He made one NCAA Tournament with UAB, but they lost in the first round. Before the 2025-26 season, Lendeborg transferred to Michigan. He put up 15.1 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game on the way to leading the Wolverines to a national championship.

Following the national championship, Lendeborg has been preparing for the NBA Draft. He iscurrently projected to be a mid-first round pick.

Yaxel Lendeborg Strengths

He has solid athleticism, body control and skill for a player of his size. At over 6-foot-8 and 241 pounds, Lendeborg has the capablity to move like a smaller player. He can stay in front on defense and also is able to switch on multiple positions. On offense, he dribbles well and keeps good control of his body in the post.

Lendeborg has been a good scorer a the collegiate level and should be able to use some of that in the NBA. He improved his three-point shooting in college and can continue that at the next level. Lendeborg also showed the ability to score in the post around the basket with good efficiency. Both of those skills make him a good fit for the modern NBA.

His passing has been impressive, especially for a player who is still relatively new to basketball. He notices when double teams are coming and can find his open teammates. Lendeborg sees the floor clearly both in half-court offense and transition. He can even operate the pick and roll solidly, which can really pose a problem for opponents defensively, who have to send bigger players out to the perimeter.

Yaxel Lendeborg Weaknesses

Lendeborg is an older prospect and is still relatively new to basketball. He started playing organized basketball about five years ago. While he will get a ton of credit for developing quickly, Lendeborg also won’t have as long of a time as other prospects to improve his game. He will be 24 before his rookie season starts.

His defense is great in some areas, specifically with his ability to switch, but he can lose focus at times. Lendeborg can give up space to cutters when guarding off-ball because he is so focused on helping. Keeping good eye balance between his man and the ball will make him a more efficient defender.

He scored well in the paint, but did a lot of damage against smaller players than NBA athletes at UAB and Michigan. At UAB other teams didn’t always have great functional length, while at Michigan, he played small, which made his matchup more advantageous. There may be an adjustment period to playing against NBA-level length.
