Florida-based Frances Tiafoe will make his debut at the Vanda Pharmaceuticals Mallorca Championships in 2026, adding a major American presence to a growing grass-court field at the Mallorca Country Club in Santa Ponça, Spain.
The ATP 250 event, held from June 20-27, 2026, remains a distinctive stop on the calendar as the only grass-court tournament in Southern Europe. Held during the grass-court swing ahead of Wimbledon, the tournament offers players another opportunity to compete on grass in a Mediterranean setting.
Tiafoe was the first player confirmed for the 2026 field. Known for his energy on court and his great connection with the crowd, the American will make his debut in Mallorca, adding further excitement to a tournament that blends Wimbledon-certified grass with the Mediterranean’s distinctive character and lifestyle.
“Frances is a player who brings something special wherever he goes. His passion and flair will resonate with our fans, and having him commit this early speaks volumes about how the Vanda Pharmaceuticals Mallorca Championships is viewed by players on the international stage,” said Toni Nadal, Tournament Director.

The tournament is also strengthening its player line-up with defending champion Tallon Griekspoor confirmed to return alongside Alexander Bublik, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, Nick Kyrgios, Yannick Hanfmann and Jan-Lennard Struff.
Griekspoor claimed the 2025 title with a 7–5, 7–6 win over Corentin Moutet in a final defined by intensity, demanding conditions and fine margins. At 28, he became the oldest champion in tournament history, securing the third ATP title of his career and further underlining his credentials on grass.
His connection to Mallorca extends beyond match week. Griekspoor regularly trains at the Mallorca Country Club, reinforcing his confidence and comfort in a venue he knows well.
“Winning here was something very special and it’s a memory I carry with me,” said Griekspoor after confirming his return. “I’m really looking forward to coming back to Mallorca, especially because I train at the club quite often and feel very comfortable here. Being able to enjoy this particular tournament atmosphere again — the grass, the surroundings and the fans — is hugely motivating for me”, said Griekspoor.
Toni Nadal also welcomed the defending champion’s return.
“Having the defending champion back is always important for a tournament. Tallon knows our facilities well, understands how to play on grass and has built a special relationship with Mallorca. His return strengthens the sporting profile of the event and is great news for the fans.”

Bublik, current world No. 11, will play in Mallorca for the first time, making his debut on the grass courts of the Mallorca Country Club. One of the most charismatic and entertaining players on the ATP Tour, Bublik joins an already strong field featuring Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, Frances Tiafoe, Nick Kyrgios, Yannick Hanfmann and Jan-Lennard Struff.
Davidovich Fokina will return to Mallorca as the first Spanish player confirmed for the 2026 edition. Currently established inside the world’s Top 20, the 26-year-old arrives in one of the strongest spells of his career, regularly reaching the latter stages of major ATP events thanks to his athleticism, intensity and all-court versatility.
Davidovich Fokina previously competed in Mallorca in 2023 and returns aiming to push deeper into the draw in a setting known for combining world-class tennis with a relaxed Mediterranean atmosphere.
“Playing in Spain is always special, and Mallorca has a unique feel to it,” he said. “The level is high, the setting is incredible, and the fans really get behind you. I’m excited to come back and hope to put together a strong week.”
Kyrgios and Struff add further depth to the field. Kyrgios is one of the most charismatic and talked-about talents in world tennis, with an explosive style, natural ability and strong connection with fans that make every appearance a major attraction for spectators. Struff arrives in Mallorca as a well-established player on the ATP Tour, known for his powerful game and consistency, with a proven record across surfaces and a regular presence in the main draws of the world’s top tournaments.
Beyond the player field, the 2026 edition will also feature a significantly renewed tournament layout, including a redesigned hospitality concept and enhanced facilities for spectators. In front of the clubhouse, a new modular two-level temporary structure will centralise essential tournament services in one dedicated area, streamlining operations and improving overall venue logistics.
Centre Court will also see a significant transformation. The former west-facing stand of centre court will be replaced by a new hospitality structure. At court level, this installation will feature a series of air-conditioned, glass-fronted VIP suites, offering premium seating directly by the court with uninterrupted views of the matches. Above the suites, a newly designed VIP Lounge with restaurant facilities will provide catering and exclusive areas.
This reconfiguration strengthens the premium hospitality concept while also enhancing comfort for the wider audience. The remaining Centre Court seating has been carefully planned to optimise orientation and minimise direct sun exposure. Furthermore, the Fan Zone will be relocated beneath the new VIP Lounge, creating a shaded space designed to improve visitor comfort throughout the day.
“As a relatively young tournament, we have reached a stage where consolidation and quality enhancement are essential,” said Pilar Carbonell, Managing Director of e|motion Sports España. “This investment represents a clear step forward in strengthening our infrastructure and long-term positioning.”
CEO Edwin Weindorfer emphasised the importance of partnership: “These developments are also a way of thanking our sponsors, partners and public authorities for their continued support. The new structure allows us to further elevate the hosting environment for guests, clients and friends.”
With a growing player line-up, upgraded facilities and a unique position as the only grass-court tournament in Southern Europe, the Vanda Pharmaceuticals Mallorca Championships continue to reinforce their distinctive place within the ATP calendar.
