R-Truth has given a lot to WWE over the years, and during his conversation with WittyWhittier, he opened up about just how much that career has cost him personally.
The moment came while Truth was talking about the fan support he received when it looked like he might be done with WWE. Truth was asked what it meant to see fans react so strongly and push for him to come back. It was brought up how the WWE audience rallied behind him when he was off camera, with fans making it very clear they wanted him back. Truth said there are no words strong enough to fully describe how that felt.
“Man, that’s um you couldn’t find no dictionary that could come up with the words that express how that feel.”
He connected that reaction to what fans experience when they attend WWE live. To Truth, the reaction showed the loyalty, love, and commitment that wrestling fans bring when they care about someone.
“It’s the loyalty. It’s the love. It’s the commitment. It’s the man that mill over a 100red million people reacting agreeing on one thing coming together just we riot.”
Truth said the entire thing overwhelmed him because he had never felt that kind of love before in his life. Then Truth got personal. He said he is 54 years old and summed up the whole situation with something his son told him after seeing how many people were supporting him.
“It was it was just so overwhelming, man. And it was like um I’ve never felt love like that before in my life. You know what I’m saying? I’m 54 years old, man. And I always sum it up with one thing my son said to me in the back. Um you know, when everything happened and he we looked and he saw all the numbers, man. And he’s like, ‘Dad, it was worth it.’”
That hit Truth hard because his career has come with real sacrifices. He said he has missed major family moments while dedicating himself to wrestling. Truth said the fan reaction will never be forgotten by him, especially after everything he has poured into his career.
“And just those words, man, it’s like I’ve missed so many graduations, birthdays, anniversaries, um deaths in my family. like I I’ve missed so much, but I’ve dedicated so much.”
“That type of outpour, man, just the abundance of love that I was shown, man, would never ever go unnoticed uh by me. And it just when you say the people’s channel, that gave me that title right then and there. And I love the people for that.”
R-Truth has made fans laugh for years, but this was one of those moments where the man behind the character came through. His career has brought a lot of joy to the WWE Universe, but it has also required him to miss moments he can never get back.
