Round Rock Express reliever Emiliano Teodo is locked in out of the bullpen, stringing together an impressive run of dominance in the Pacific Coast League. The right-handed reliever has now logged nine consecutive scoreless outings. Including six straight outings without giving up a hit.
Over this nine-game stretch, Teodo has pitched 9.0 innings, allowing zero runs while racking up 9 strikeouts against 5 walks. His reliability was put on full display recently as he successfully navigated pitching in back-to-back games, showcasing both the durability and efficiency required of a big-league arm.
The primary hurdle for the hard-throwing righty has been the free passes. Across 27.2 total innings of work this season, Teodo has issued 22 walks to go along with his 39 strikeouts. While he hasn’t completely curbed the walk issues, his command has shown slight signs of improvement over these last nine appearances. More importantly, those free passes haven’t come back to bite him. He had a stretch of four games without issuing a walk.
This current scoreless run has significantly lowered Teodo’s overall ERA to 4.23 on the year. If he continues to keep the walks in check and stack zeros for the Express, Teodo could very well find himself making his MLB debut in Arlington before the season is over.
Teodo spent the early portion of his minor league career coming up as a starting pitcher, including a stellar 2024 campaign where he made 19 starts for Double-A Frisco with a 1.98 ERA. However, the Rangers organization transitioned him to a full-time bullpen role. Across the 2025 and 2026 seasons, Teodo has pitched exclusively out of the bullpen, allowing his triple-digit velocity to play up in shorter, high-leverage bursts.
The Texas Rangers originally signed Teodo to a minor league contract as an international free agent on January 28, 2020. Over his minor league career, he has logged a 3.58 ERA across 319.1 innings of work, racking up 434 strikeouts and navigating 196 walks.
