The racers are just getting started for this weekend’s Leogang World Cup DH. It’s wet and muddy, with slick peanut butter making the track difficult to manage. And more rain is on the way. As a result, Jackson Goldstone’s GoPro POV footage from his first practice run makes him seem mortal. Not to worry, he still hits the road gap, seemingly spontaneously, though, as he says, “Do we have enough speed for this?” in what sounds like a genuine question, asked long after he hits the point of no return on the way into the massive step-down. Not really like one of us at all, then – not that there was much doubt.
