CANDON CITY, Philippines – Korea were crowned champions of the AVC Women’s Volleyball Cup 2026 after defeating Chinese Taipei in straight sets, 25-19, 25-19, 25-22, in the gold medal match at the Candon City Arena on Sunday.
Korea produced a commanding performance in the championship match, combining disciplined defense with efficient attacking to overcome a determined Chinese Taipei side and secure the continental title.
The Koreans established control early in the contest, taking the opening set 25-19 before replicating the scoreline in the second set to move within one set of the championship. Chinese Taipei showed greater resistance in the third set and stayed within striking distance for much of the frame, but Korea maintained its composure in the closing stages to seal a 25-22 victory and complete the straight-sets triumph.
The victory capped an impressive campaign for Korea, who navigated a competitive field of 12 teams to emerge as champions of the AVC Women’s Volleyball Cup 2026.
Chinese Taipei, meanwhile, concluded an outstanding tournament with the silver medal after reaching the final through a series of strong performances throughout the week.
Earlier in the day, Vietnam secured the bronze medal with a straight-sets victory over Kazakhstan in the third-place match.
The AVC Women’s Volleyball Cup 2026 brought together 12 national teams from across the continent for nine days of competition in Candon City, Philippines, showcasing the depth and quality of women’s volleyball in Asia.
