The Green Bay Packers have completed their mandatory minicamp and are now turning their attention toward the 2026 campaign. One notable change this year was the team’s decision to hold a full-speed practice with complete cadence on the final day, something that had not been part of recent minicamps.
With expectations rising, Green Bay is eagerly awaiting the returns of key contributors such as Micah Parsons and Tucker Kraft as it prepares for the season ahead.

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur announced that the recent session marked the end of mandatory team activities for the offseason, with only the rookie class scheduled to remain on the field next week. The minicamp also provided one of the clearest opportunities so far to evaluate the roster, from established starters gearing up for another season to first-year players pushing for early roles and under-the-radar candidates hoping to emerge as surprise contributors in 2026.
With the Green Bay Packers still carrying a 90-man roster, difficult roster decisions are on the horizon, making every remaining practice valuable for young players and offseason additions fighting for spots.
An intense roster battle ahead for the Green Bay Packers
The team used its top draft selection on cornerback Brandon Cisse in the second round and continued adding defensive talent with defensive tackle Chris McClellan and edge rusher Dani Dennis-Sutton, giving several newcomers a chance to make an impression before training camp begins.
As competition across the roster continues to intensify, several players could find themselves fighting to keep a spot heading into training camp. The Packers added significant depth this offseason, creating tougher paths to playing time at multiple positions.

Among those facing an uphill battle are third-year cornerback Kamal Hadden and second-year quarterback Kyle McCord, both of whom could be vulnerable as roster evaluations continue following minicamp.
McCord joined the Packers after spending his rookie year on the practice squad of the Philadelphia Eagles, giving Green Bay additional depth behind its quarterbacks. Meanwhile, the Packers selected Hadden in the sixth round of the 2024 draft and kept him on the practice squad throughout his first season. He later earned a promotion to the active roster in 2025 and appeared in 10 games before his year was cut short by a serious ankle injury suffered against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 10, an injury that carried an estimated recovery timeline of roughly five months.
