With the increase in popularity and participation in trail running, a pilot scottishathletics East DistrictShort Trail championship was incorporated into Dechmont Trail race at Livingston on Sunday, run over a 10km distance.
Moray Pryde, of the host club, led from the start and ran out a clear winner in 35:18 ahead of Edinburgh AC’s Gary Constable, 36.04, and Fife AC’s Ben Kinnimonth,37:05
In the Women’s race Louisa Brown, Stirling University, took the win in 43:22 from Claire Jellema of West Edinburgh Running Club 43:47. Janet Dunbar took the bronze medal in 45:29
In the men’s team races, Edinburgh AC took the gold medals from Linlithgow AC and Lothian RC. It was the same order in the Women’s teams.
The National Short Trail Champs take place at the Crieff Trail 10km on Sunday 12 July.
