CPL 2024 ended recently with St Lucia Kings lifting the trophy. A few top performers could be targeted by CSK to improve the squad for the next season. Here, we take a look at the list of three top performers in CPL 2024 whom CSK can target for IPL 2025.
1) Kyle Mayers
Yes, his average was on the lower side but his strike rate was brilliant. If you take a look at some of the CSK players in the past, the profiles are similar to that of Kyle Mayers. Dwayne Smith is a good example.
If not as a first-choice player, as a backup, Kyle Mayers should be a good choice for the side. Since he is a left-hander, he also adds that variety in the top order.
2) Noor Ahmad
Noor Ahmad is one of the top performers in CPL 2024 whom CSK can target for IPL 2025. The Afghan spinner was the best bowler in the tournament. It needs to be noted that he is just 19.
If Gujarat Titans release him, almost every other team will target the player. CSK must go hard mainly because he would be perfect for the home venue. The age profile is also very good for the bowling department. Since the owners had picked him at Texas Super Kings, he could surely in the picture again.
3) Faf du Plessis
With an average above 35 and a strike rate close to 150, Faf du Plessis was yet again in top form in a franchise league. For a player of his age, this is ridiculous consistency. On top of this, he even led the side to the trophy.
It has to do more with Faf’s connection with CSK which could give him another opportunity in the IPL. The fans will be pleased to have him back in the team despite his age. Hence, he is on this list.
