Reason Behind Tessa Blanchard’s TNA Exit Revealed

Tessa Blanchard’s TNA exit apparently came down to one messy political problem between TNA and CMLL.

Tessa Blanchard is out of TNA again after returning to the company at Final Resolution in December 2024. At first, the word was that she had asked for her release and got it, but no reason was given. Now there’s more to the story.

According to PWInsider, Blanchard could not keep working both CMLL in Mexico and TNA because of TNA’s current relationship with WWE. WWE now owns the majority of AAA’s parent company, and AAA is one of CMLL’s biggest rivals in Mexico. That created an obvious issue for Blanchard, who has been working with CMLL for years.

“PWInsider.com is told that politically, Blanchard could not continue to wrestle for CMLL in Mexico and TNA (obviously, due to TNA’s relationship with WWE, which owns the majority of AAA’s parent company) and chose to remain with CMLL, where she has performed for years.”

So in the end, Blanchard chose CMLL. That makes her TNA return a short one. She came back in December 2024 by attacking Jordynne Grace after Grace’s match with Rosemary, immediately putting herself back into the Knockouts division picture. But less than two years after that comeback, her second run with TNA is already over.

Blanchard has major history with TNA. She is a former Knockouts Champion, a former TNA World Champion, and the first woman to ever hold the company’s world title. That made her return a big deal, but this latest report makes it sound like outside wrestling politics made staying there complicated.

Bottom line, Tessa Blanchard didn’t just leave TNA Wrestling out of nowhere. The latest report says she had to pick a side, and she picked the promotion where she has already spent years working — CMLL.
