The MLB Draft has recently been moved to All-Star Week, making it more of an event. Although it was formerly in the summer, it now happens in the middle of July. So, when is the 2026 MLB Draft?
This year, the 2026 MLB Draft will start on Saturday, July 11, for the opening night. The first round and the compensatory and competitive balance rounds will happen on the first night. Sunday, July 12 will feature all other rounds for the 20-round draft, allowing the MLB to complete the whole thing in two days.

- Rest of the Draft: Sunday, July 12
