Fans let NYPD and others enjoy parade

Fans need to let the NYPD and others enjoy tomorrow’s parade. ABC World News tonight reported this evening that 10,000 police officers will be working during the Championship parade. For every sports event, there are numerous staff employees that maintain order, pickup trash and ensure that events are “normal.” After the Game 4 disorder by Knicks fans, any fan looking to vandalize or destroy property needs to chill out.

Game 4 disorder by fans

Knicks fans seemed to collapse after the team’s Game 4 victory. There were fans that assaulted Spurs fans at Bryant Park. A police officer was hit in the face with a glass bottle. It was a great victory and well deserved. But, it didn’t warrant physical violence.

Every New Yorker should be able to, for at least an hour, listen to the speeches and take in the ambiance without worrying about another person vandalizing. Preferably, attendees of the parade should pick up any trash they generate when they leave, so the sanitation staff can have their children with them for a bit.

Legendary Ticker-tape parade

The Knicks will get a ticker tape parade on Thursday. The Knicks teams that won the title in 1970 and ’73 didn’t get one as the mayor chose to have it at Gracie Mansion. There will be 650 sanitation workers that will be on duty and not able to celebrate. Not even the New York Jets got a ticker-tape parade when they won the title in 1970.

According to 404 media, hackers infiltrated the computers at Madison Square Garden and published information available for download on “Knicks personalities” and specific sports teams. This is a new battle for the franchise and MSG, so they have to pivot quickly after the parade.

Off-season basketball decisions

Like every champion, they immediately are expected to repeat as Champions. Mitchell Robinson is expected to be the main priority of the front office as per Basketnews.com. Landry Shamet will get attention on the free agency market. Mitchell Robinson contributed a lot to the Championship run and if he is lost, it will mean a lot.

Karl Anthony-Towns needs to be extended as per the New York Post. Mikal Bridges found new life from the Championship run since most fans were critical of the deal that brought him to New York. So, the Knicks fans will have to make tough business decisions.
