Sandra Deaton has been appointed to the International Table Tennis Federation’s influential Nominations Committee.
The Nominations Committee is independent and non-political and its main purpose is to ensure the right persons in terms of skills and independence serve in governance roles within ITTF.
Sandra, who will represent Europe, first served on the committee in 2014 and has recently served as its Chair.
One Member Association-nominated representative from each continent has been appointed to the committee and the other members are: Tago Germain Alfred Karou (Africa), Richard Char (Americas), Jingmeng Han (Asia), and Sarah Sandley (Oceania).
The three independent members of the Committee will be appointed later in the year, with the Chair confirmed once the full composition is in place.
Offering congratulations to Sandra, Table Tennis England CEO Sally Lockyer said: “Sandra’s appointment supports our International Relations Strategy and the most recent appointments to international and European boards/committees, including Paul Drinkhall (England) as Co-Chair, along with Charlotte Carey (Wales) and Jack Hunter-Spivey (England) on to the ITTF Athletes’ Commission.”
