Fiorentina cannot rule out Kean exit this summer

Fiorentina sporting director Fabio Paratici revealed the club cannot guarantee they will keep Moise Kean this summer.

Kean was Fiorentina’s top scorer in Serie A this season, scoring eight goals in an injury-hit campaign for the 26-year-old.

He joined the club from Juventus, for whom he scored 0 goals in 19 league games in 2023-24, though he netted 19 times in 32 Serie A matches in his first season with Fiorentina.

The La Viola striker also starred for Italy during their unsuccessful World Cup qualifying campaign, scoring six times in five games before the Azzurri lost in the play-offs to Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Kean’s turnaround in form at Fiorentina has seen him gain interest from AC Milan, with the forward’s current deal expiring in June 2029.

Paratici confirmed the club want to keep Kean, but admitted it could be out of their hands.

“We are in a transfer window. There are discussions with the footballers and their entourages. It’s a normal thing,” said Paratici.

“I’m definitely not here to tell you the whole truth of what we say to each other with players and their entourage during this transfer window, to be honest.

“As for Kean, he is absolutely a heritage of Italian football and Fiorentina. Everyone knows how fond I am of him; I watched him grow from when he was nine years old until the Champions League.

“I’ve also already sold him once under my management. I am as fond of him as I am of all the footballers I have had. But we are in a market period.

“We hope and want him to be our No.9. But all football clubs are not masters of their fate on the market, apart from the top five or six in the world.”
