Tessa Blanchard Says There’s No Bad Blood With TNA After Choosing CMLL

Tessa Blanchard is clearing the air after her latest TNA exit, and she’s not throwing dirt on the company on her way out.

Blanchard recently explained that TNA eventually asked her to choose between staying with the company or continuing her run with CMLL in Mexico. That part already got plenty of attention, but in a new video posted to her YouTube channel, Tessa made sure one thing was crystal clear — she does not have any resentment toward TNA.

Blanchard said her original deal with TNA allowed her to keep wrestling in Mexico for CMLL while also being part of TNA. For a while, that worked exactly how it was supposed to. Then the business changed, TNA’s direction shifted, and she was eventually asked to make a decision.

“Hey everyone. Uh I just wanted to sit down and talk to you guys directly because I know there’s been a lot of questions about my future and why I made the decision that I did. Um when I signed with TNA, the understanding was that I’d be able to continue wrestling here in Mexico with CMLL while also being a part of TNA.”

“For a while, that worked exactly as planned and it felt like a dream come true, like an absolute blessing. But as time went on and business evolved, leadership changed, partnerships changed, network deals changed, uh you know, the direction of the company just shifted and eventually I was asked to make a decision to either continue with TNA or continue with CMLL.”

That could have easily sounded like a messy split, especially with all the politics surrounding TNA, WWE, AAA, and CMLL. But Tessa immediately pumped the brakes on that idea. She said she understands why TNA had to handle things the way it did, and she made it clear she is not holding a grudge.

“And I want to be very clear that I completely understand TNA’s position. This is business and companies have to make decisions that they believe are best for their future. I have absolutely no resentment or ill feelings toward anyone there.”

That was the big message from Tessa’s update. Yes, she had to choose. Yes, she chose Mexico. But she is not painting TNA as the villain here. Blanchard also revealed that TNA actually wanted her to stay. She named members of the team and said they treated her well during her time there. According to Tessa, TNA even made her an offer to continue with the company before she made the call to stay with CMLL.

“In fact, um Carlos, Riley, Nicole, like the entire team there just they’re nothing but great. Uh they were nothing but great to me. In fact, they they wanted me to stay and they made me an offer to continue with the company and I’m unbelievably blessed for that.”

That detail matters because it changes the tone of the whole exit. This was not Tessa saying TNA tossed her aside. It was Tessa saying TNA wanted her, but her life and her heart are now in Mexico. She also took time to talk about what TNA meant to her career. Blanchard became Knockouts Champion there, became the first woman to hold the company’s world title, and built a historic part of her résumé inside that promotion. Even while explaining why she chose CMLL, she gave TNA credit for being a major chapter in her career.

“TNA, it’s been such an important part of my career. It’s been an such a vital chapter of my career. It’s where I became Knockouts Champion. It’s where I became the first woman to hold a world heavyweight championship. It’s where I made history. It’s where I had some of my favorite matches and created memories that that I’ll carry with me forever.”

Blanchard returned to TNA at Final Resolution in December 2024 by attacking Jordynne Grace after Grace’s match with Rosemary, putting herself right back into the Knockouts division picture. That run is now over, but Tessa is not leaving with a scorched-earth speech. Instead, she said Mexico has become her home. She has a relationship there, a life there, and a spot in CMLL where she feels like she is thriving. Tessa said she is now focused on chasing the goals she still has left in Mexico.

“And after thinking long and hard about my future, I realized that uh my heart is in Mexico. You know, my my I’ve built a life here. I’ve got a relationship here. I’ve got a company that I just I’m thriving in and I and and co-workers and I’m wrestling with luchadoras that are just some of the best in the world.”

In the end, Tessa Blanchard’s message was not about trashing TNA. It was about explaining why she chose CMLL while making it clear she respects TNA, appreciates the offer they made her, and has no bad blood with anyone there.
