Punjab Kings (PBKS) batter Priyansh Arya believes continuous improvement is the most important part of his cricket journey. The 24-year-old, who impressed in the 2026 IPL, is currently playing for India A in the A-Team Tri Series in Sri Lanka.
Speaking to Sportstar on Friday, Arya said, “The biggest thing I have learned is that I need to keep getting better day by day. That’s what’s best for my cricket.”
In the 2026 IPL, Arya scored 364 runs, establishing himself as one of the most aggressive batters in the Powerplay. He has also scored 98 runs from three matches to help his side qualify for the final of the Tri-Nation Series.
Speaking about adapting between T20 and one-day cricket, Arya said, “In T20 cricket, winning the Powerplay is very important because there are only 20 overs. In one-day cricket, it’s not as important because it’s a 50-over game. You have more time, and you can accelerate or make up runs at any stage, so you can afford to take your time.”
Arya reflected on how playing in Sri Lanka has taught him the importance of scoring through singles and doubles. He also credited Ricky Ponting and Shreyas Iyer for helping him remain positive in every situation.
Reflecting on his long-term goals, Arya added, “My goal is to win matches for my country.”
Arya will be seen in action in the Tri Series final on June 21 in Dambulla.
