Source reveals big update on possible Aaron Donald return

Numerous reports shared throughout June have teased that retired defensive superstar Aaron Donald could return to the Los Angeles Rams after his former club acquired star pass-rusher Myles Garrett from the Cleveland Browns.

Per Cameron DaSilva of Rams Wire/USA Today, Cayden’s Corner on TikTok recently asked former NFL stars whether they think Donald will make a return to the Rams’ active roster this year. Former running back LeSean McCoy gave Los Angeles fans an additional reason to think that Donald and Garrett could line up alongside each other before Super Bowl LXI wraps up in February 2027.

Aaron Donald is “thinking about” coming out of retirement

“You know Aaron Donald’s one of my best friends,” McCoy said. “I can’t tell you everything, but I’ll tell you this much: He’s thinking about it. That’s all I can give you.”

Garrett and others associated with the Rams seemingly aren’t putting any pressure on Donald to make a decision anytime soon. Donald hasn’t played since he retired following the 2023 season, and it’s unknown if the 35-year-old will find the “fire” he allegedly wants to feel before he commits to playing another down of meaningful football.

That said, the Rams reportedly will “keep the door ajar for Donald to return at any point.” Thus, it’s possible that he could put pen to paper on a short-term contract with the club during the regular season or shortly before the playoffs get underway.

Rams safety Kamren Curl makes feelings about possible Aaron Donald return clear

Per Josh Buckhalter of Heavy, Rams safety Kamren Curl appeared on Thursday’s edition of the FanDuel TV “Up & Adams” program. Predictably, Curl was asked about the Donald-related rumors that continue to hover over the franchise.

“I haven’t seen Aaron Donald,” Curl revealed. “He retired the day I signed with the Rams. So, I ain’t really get a chance to. But he be coming back. He be in there. He in there sometimes, but he be chilling.”

Curl also said that he wants to share a locker room with Donald. It was unclear as of the third Friday of June when Donald may confirm his intentions for the 2026 campaign.
