Conor Benn has called out Ryan Garcia for stalling negotiations for their proposed Las Vegas showdown.
Garcia claimed he would face Benn while appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
He stated that the fight would take place on September 12 in Las Vegas, the same date that Canelo Alvarez returns to the ring to face Christian Mbilli for the WBC super middleweight title.
‘King Ry’ is the reigning WBC welterweight world champion after winning a world title for the first time in his career.
He cruised to a unanimous decision victory over Mario Barrios after dropping him in the opening round.

In the fight prior to facing Barrios, Garcia challenged for the WBA world title but failed to capture the belt after a lacklustre performance against Rolando Romero in Times Square.
After Garcia claimed his fight with Benn was set for September, the bout appeared to be on. However, Benn recently spoke at a Zuffa Boxing event and suggested otherwise.
“I haven’t spoken to him.

“He’s gone missing.
“So all I need him to do is sign the contract so we can get the fight locked in and give everyone here one hell of a fight, and a potential fight of the year.”
‘The Destroyer’ is the WBC’s number-one ranked contender at welterweight, despite having fought at the weight only once in the last two years.
He returned to his natural weight in April when he faced former world champion Regis Prograis.

Benn picked up a wide points victory, with all three judges scoring the contest 98-92.
A few weeks before his last fight, Benn left long-term promoter Matchroom and Eddie Hearn to sign with Dana White’s Zuffa Boxing.
Garcia’s promoter, Oscar De La Hoya, claimed he had not been involved in any discussions regarding the fight when speaking to Boxing Scene.

“There’s no update.
“I have been hearing rumblings and rumours.
“Nobody has talked to me. We obviously have the final say because I am Ryan Garcia’s promoter.
“This is the one thing I can tell you: We work with every promoter, even if it has to be Dana White and Zuffa.

“As much as I hate it, let’s go. Why not? Because the fighters want this fight.
“Ryan wants it. Let’s make it happen. You have to work with the promoters to make these fights happen.
“I’m not going to get in the way of it. If that’s what Ryan wants, that’s what he’s going to get. It’s a matter of details; it’s a matter of making sure that all parties are happy.”
The fight is rumoured to take place on Netflix rather than through Golden Boy’s broadcast partner, DAZN.
With Garcia being signed with Golden Boy Promotions there is an expectation for him to fight on DAZN typically.
The broadcaster recently sent a cease and desist to Zuffa as a result of the negotiations between themselves and Garcia.
